Trustees Earn Prestigious Trustees' Master Designation
Last week, ACRA Local Union 725 Co-chairmen Ed Llosent, Airtech, and Kenn Scott, Business Manager, Local Union 725, were awarded the prestigious "Master Trustee" designation, presented by the International Foundation for Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP ) to trustees who have served a minimum of 5
years, and have completed a program of courses. Also attending the recent IFEBP Annual Education Conference this week in Orlando were trustee Mike Didona, as well as Carlos I. Borja, Weathertrol, who, in addition to the conference, completed the IFEBP New Trustee Program; as well management-appointed trustees Mark K
erney,
Hill York and Julie Dietrich who also the hold the Master Trustee designation.
The conference, which is held annually in the US, brings together nearly 5,000 trustees and plan professionals who are offered more than 100 classes taught by top presenters in their field from across the globe. At this year's conference, presenters included representatives of three firms employed by the ACRA Local Union 725 Fringe Benefit Trust Funds: Attorney Bill Cumming of Hessian & McKasy, who serves locally as Fund Counsel for the Pension, Health & Welfare and DC trust funds; Aruna Vhora with Horizon Actuarial, who serves locally as a consultant on the Health & Welfare trust fund; and various actuaries who work with Horizon Actuarial, the firm that prepares actuarial assumptions for the local Pension trust fund.
All local trustees are required to comply with a stringent continuing education policy, which was adopted in 2011. Trustees who attended the conference volunteered their time to attend 37 hours' worth of coursework, in addition to time spent each month attending meetings and addressing trust fund-related business.
