Save the Date: Moderator to Address MCC Live
You are invited to join Rev. Elder Dr. Nancy Wilson, Moderator of Metropolitan Community Churches, as she will be delivering a live webcast on Thursday, 28 June 2012, at 5:00pm UTC/GMT (1:00pm US Eastern).
We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the last webcast in March, so we have decided to have this type of event on a semi-regular basis with the Moderator. Dr. Wilson will provide some exciting updates on recent events and key issues that she and the Governing Board have been working to address since the last face-to-face Governing Board meeting in March.
The webcast will last approximately 20 minutes. It will be recorded for subsequent viewing on the MCC Governing Board website. You will be able to access the live broadcast via the MCC website here: http://www.mccchurch.org/live.
In order to expand our international reach and allow as many people as possible to watch and/or listen in for no cost, there will not be a conference line needed for this event.
If you have questions or comments following the presentation, please write to Rev. Dr. Robert Griffin at GoverningBoard@MCCchurch.net. We look forward to you joining us!

2012 U.S. Board of Pensions: Hank Hueber, Rev. Wes Mullins, Tony Somora, Jeremiah Nelson, Rev. Alycia Erickson, Rev. Tom Emmett, Rev. Carolyn Mobley, and Keith Thompson
|
The UFMCC Board of Pensions (USA) met for their annual meeting in May in Sarasota, Florida (USA), the hometown of board member Hank Hueber and Plan Administrator Bill Hooper. They had an in-depth, face-to-face meeting with financial advisor Michael Burchieri of UBS, and they made a few changes to further strengthen the fund's performance. They also elected new officers to two year terms: Rev. Wes Mullins, President; Keith Thompson, Vice President; Tony Somora, Treasurer; Rev. Alycia Erickson, Clerk. The Board passed resolutions to formally thank Devon Avery, who had served as President and retired from the Board, and Rev. Mark Bidwell, who had served as Clerk of the BOP until his death early this year. The entire Board of Pensions will be at General Conference XXV in Chicago (Illinois, USA) in July 2013, and they are preparing some new, helpful resources that will be available at Conference.

MCC General Conference XXV
1-5 July 2013
Chicago, Illinois (USA)
MCC is proud to welcome to our 25th General Conference the premier progressive preacher in the U.S., Dr. James Forbes. Dr. Forbes will bless us with his preaching on Tuesday night of Conference and will be the lead speaker at our first-ever "preaching clinic" on Thursday.
Dr. Forbes has long been a champion of the vision of the inclusive church and on the forefront of many justice struggles that challenge our culture and the church of Jesus Christ. Dr. Forbes was nurtured in the Pentecostal Church and has a powerful, ecumenical and prophetic voice for our nation and the world. He has long been a supporter of the full inclusion of LGBT people in the life and ministry of the church. Click here for his full bio.
It will be an honor and a blessing to have him minister to the people of MCC at our global gathering in Chicago next year! We know his timely message will be one of those transformative moments we look forward to at General Conference!
