Heroes of the Week

Natalie English

Congratulations to this week's Heroes Brian and Natalie. We hope you enjoy your up-close parking spot.

A Note to Brian Jones, Middle School History:
Jones-y: I really wish I would have had a history teacher like you in school. You bring the sometimes dry subject of history to life. You make learning fun. Whether you are rocking your guitar in class, dressed up or rapping songs about history, you make sure to hit every student's learning style. That is not an easy task at all but Jones does it so well. Mr. Jones is always willing to go above and beyond for each and every student, it is why so many former students come back to visit. Thanks for inspiring us! Your Co-Worker in Christ

Natalie English, Communications Coordinator:
Natalie, You are so incredibly gracious with our interruptions and last-minute changes, and you juggle so many areas simultaneously! Most importantly, you do your work as unto the Lord and it is so beautiful and inspiring! What would we do without you? Heart Ali

Middle School Chapel Recap
This week we had the pleasure of hearing from MCS mom and pastor at Pacific Pointe Church, Chris Blue.  Chris' heart for our students to boldly live out their faith in Jesus was clearly communicated on Monday morning.  She referred to Mary in the Bible, who went to the extreme of pouring out perfume worth a year's wages on Jesus feet as a model of how passionately we should love and worship Jesus!  At some point we need to be willing to take a leap into the life Jesus has called us to, and refuse to listen to the mockery from the world when we do.  When we choose to joyFULLy love Jesus, it captures the attention of the world who is looking for something different, a real, authentic faith in Jesus. It was the perfect message coming back from Easter Break and following up on Spiritual Emphasis Week, an encouragement to live as citizens of the Kingdom!

Middle School Bake Sale Thank You!
Thank you to all 6th and 8th grade families who donated treats for the Bake Sale on Thursday, and for all students who purchased and those treats generously donated their change.  It was a hugely successful 1-Day Bake Sale, bringing in $501.85!  100% of those profits will go directly toward building wells in Uganda to give access to clean water to those villages who currently don't have any.  What a life-changing and impactful blessing this will be now and for generations to come!  (If you brought treats in your personal containers, they are ready for pick up on the counter in the kitchen downstairs.)
