MCS Hero of the Week

Congratulations to this week's Hero Keven Kroehler. We hope you enjoy your up-close parking spot.

A Note to Keven Kroehler, Director of Business Operations:

Keven Kroehler is the middle school hero of the week! We will bet Keven did not know that part of his job would be moving furniture, hanging TVs, unclogging toilets, fixing air conditioners, taking out trash and helping to manage a massive construction project. This, on top of running the business/finance side of the school. But he does it all with a servant's heart, without complaint, and as fast as he can. He is an example of what it looks like to go above and beyond everyday. He doesn't draw attention to it or expect thanks. He does it all because he is a hero!

PTF Timree Christmas Fundraiser
Our Parent Teacher Fellowship is thrilled to share with you an exciting new opportunity that has presented itself to our school community. Last year our school hosted its First Annual PTF Christmas Boutique and it was a huge success. As you are aware, there are a lot of exciting things going on around campus, and we have very little space, including room for our Christmas Boutique. With the help of one of our friends, Timree, who was a vendor from last year's event, we have come up with an alternate plan for this year.

Welcome to the PTF Timree Christmas Fundraiser! This event is designed to be simple and straightforward. And the best part is 20% of the proceeds will come directly back to MCS! Look for the Timree Christmas Catalogue to come home with your child next Friday. Besides the colorful, fun artwork on ornaments and home décor, Timree has created two special ornaments just for MCS! Each catalogue will come with ordering instructions. In addition, Timree will have a display booth at the Welcome Back Bash on September 29th. Come check it out!

We hope you will consider this creative way to support PTF and get a little Christmas shopping done, too!
Parent Teacher Fellowship Volunteer Interest Form

Middle School Chapel
This week our Head of School Mr. Moore used fire, water, and balloons to deliver a message to the middle school students. His core message was this: When we are filled with the living water of the Holy Spirit, we can withstand the attacks from the enemy!  That living water brings 4 important "P's" including His Provision, His Protection, His Plan, and His Peace.  Without that living water inside of us, we burst when the fire from the enemy comes our way.  However, when we are all filled the Holy Spirit, we can carry out the plan He has for us as HIS community!
Share2Wear Next Week
Share Day: Tuesday (9/25)
Wear Day: "Too School for Cool" Wednesday (9/26)

Our first Share2Wear of the year is upon us! Share2Wear days are one way that middle school helps reach out to our community and participates in a fun themed dress day! There has been a slight change in procedure this year for Share2Wear days. Starting next week, our "share" days will be on Tuesdays and our "wear" days will be on Wednesdays! Here's what this means for next week:

On Tuesday (9/25) the students will bring in a box of band aids to "share". These band aid boxes will go into blessing bags, along with other items we collect as the year continues. Once completed, these blessing bags will be given to homeless people who are desperately in need of items like band aids. Without daily shelter it's easy to pick up scrapes and cuts, so band aids are a cherished item for homeless people. If your student forgets to pick up a box of band aids on Monday night, they can bring $1 on Tuesday morning instead, which will go towards purchasing band aids. Students MUST "share" the item on Tuesday if they want to participate in the "wear" themed dress day on Wednesday. If they forget their share item on Tuesday, they have one last opportunity to bring it Wednesday morning if they want to dress in the theme.

Then, On Wednesday (9/26) the students who "shared" will dress in our selected theme for this month..."TOO SCHOOL FOR COOL!" Our students can deck out in "studious" attire including: bow ties, neck ties for both girls and guys, glasses, well-groomed hair, tucked-in collared shirts, khaki shorts, tall socks, and other things that display preppy clothing!  All school dress code guidelines apply. As always, a trophy will be awarded to the Homeroom with the most participation and the most creative homeroom photo!

We encourage 100% participation from our middle school students so that we can do our part in caring for those in need in our community, and see those around us through the lens of Jesus.
Middle School See You At The Pole Updated Format
(we will no longer meet before school at the flag pole)

We believe See You At The Pole is an important day to stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in public schools around the world, as they boldly meet and pray around their school flagpole.

As a way to allow all of our middle school students to participate in this act, we have redesigned See You At The Pole to be a middle school classroom experience. During History classes throughout the day, each student will be given the opportunity to pray over our schools, fellow believers, our nation, and the world. We believe in the power of prayer, and we know something special happens when Christ followers come together to pray and to seek HIS will for HIS Kingdom!

We will no longer meet before school on Wednesday (9/26)  as communicated in the previous e-newsletter. Instead, students will pray together during History class.

For more information on See You At The Pole, please visit their website at www.syatp.com.
