Transfer of Flags Ceremony Has Been An
Annual Tradition for 129 Years

A new flag will be presented to a student representative from each school in the District

DETAILS:
Superintendent Barbara Deane-Williams and President Van Henri White will welcome students and guests at the annual celebration that shines a light on some of the brightest students from every school in the District.
 
Student representatives, called “Standard Bearers,” are chosen for their outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated citizenship. The first “Transfer of Flags” ceremony was proposed in 1889 by Captain Henry Lomb, one of the founders of Bausch & Lomb. Please see official program for additional details.
