RCSD Northeast Literacy Zone Hosting
Career Fair for Rochester Residents
Rochester, NY The Rochester City School District's Northeast Literacy Zone is hosting a Career Fair for Rochester residents on Wednesday, April 25, at the Office of Adult and Career Education Services (OACES) campus at 30 Hart Street, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.

The Career Fair helps provide a pathway out of poverty for individuals and families living in the Rochester NE Literacy Zone. Led by the Office of Adult Career and Educational Services, the Literacy Zone focuses on meeting the literacy education and entry level employment and training needs of the Rochester community.

"Engagement between our neighbors in the Northeast Zone of Rochester for literacy and job training will provide enhancement of employment and increase opportunities for advancement," said Dr. Linus Guillory, Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. "As the Northeast Zone demonstrates this success for all, we can only look forward to advancing in other areas of our city."

Each year OACES provides workforce programs and services to thousands of Rochester's youth and adults, assisting them to enter employment, post-secondary education, and advanced training. Currently OACES has Career Training Programs for Auto Technology, Building Maintenance, Carpentry, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Culinary Careers, Customer Service in the 21st Century, Electrical, and Quick Print and Promotions.

Companies or job seekers interested in participating can contact Narlene Ragans at [email protected] or call (585) 324-9935.
