According to the first-of-its-kind New York School Quality Index, Francis Parker School No. 23 earned the title of best school in Monroe County for 2017. Created by Democrat and Chronicle education reporter Justin Murphy in collaboration with USA Today’s Innovation Lab programmers and designers, the New York School Quality Index provides a searchable database that ranks every public school in New York State in five key quality areas:
student attendance rate
suspension ratio
student-teacher ratio
teacher experience
racial diversity
The celebration will begin with a neighborhood parade led by the School of the Arts Jazz Ensemble at 2:00 p.m., followed by a cake-cutting ceremony back at the school at 3:15 p.m. Media are invited to attend.
