Wednesday evening, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School No. 9 is hosting its Annual Black History Month Celebration. This year’s theme, “40 Under 40 Black History Writes Itself,” is intended to shine a light on the younger generations who currently make a difference, becoming a part of Black history.
This year the school will be honoring Mayor Lovely Warren and the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, with student presentations and a “thank you” memento from the School No. 9 community.
The evening will consist of student presentations, musical selections, highlights of African American pioneers, and community honorees. The event is open to the Rochester community, beginning at 5:00 pm with doors opening at 4:30 pm.
