PROFESSIONALS FROM COMMUNITY PARTICIPATE IN WORLD READ ALOUD DAY AT SCHOOL NO. 33
Guest Readers Will Visit Classrooms and Read to Students

6th World Read Aloud Day at John James Audubon School No. 33

9:00 - light reception/guest arrivals/welcome address
9:30 - guest readers escorted to classrooms to read to students

DETAILS:
Thursday morning, dozens of well-known leaders, officials, and members of the community will gather at School No. 33 to participate in World Read Aloud Day. Volunteers include Deputy Mayor Cedric Alexander, Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo, Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli, District Attorney Sandra Doorley, Alexis Arnold of 13 WHAM, Maureen McGuire of News 8, and Rochester Board of Education President Van Henri White.

The global celebration is designed to promote literacy and the awareness that everyone has an inherent right to learn to read.

The District’s Communications team will livestream this event, making it possible for students living throughout the world to log onto World Read Aloud Day activities that will be taking place at School 33. The event will also be recorded and offered on demand via this link .

World Read Aloud Day will be celebrated globally by students, their schools and proponents of literacy in more than 100 countries.
