Yvonne Cavanagh: Artist, educator and art advocate, Yvonne is a Ceramics teacher at Bakersfield High. In 2011 her accomplishments included chairing a four day California Art Education Association State Conference, submitting her students' work to multiple exhibits and as a professional artist, exhibiting her work in numerous venues

Keep Bakersfield Beautiful - Great American Cleanup: Providing community service projects from March -May, including the Great American Cleanup with nearly 6,000 volunteers working on 100 projects in April, all told efforts included removal of 254,000 pounds of trash, planting 1600 bulbs and trees, and use of 500 gallons of paint to cover graffiti.

Jeremy Adams: BHS Educator who founded and developed the "Earl Warren Cup" competition, designed to encourage civics education. In 2011, almost 1500 people attended, to observe the competition between 32 BHS Advanced Placement Government students. The event is considered the most well attended educational event in Kern County.

City of Bakersfield - Solid Waste Division: Partnering with 52 schools, the City's Solid Waste Division created an easy food composting and classroom recycling program, both improving the bottom line of school districts and educating students about environmental stewardship.

Jerilyn Stewart: A lifelong Physician's Assistant, Jerilyn dedicated four years to making her dream of a church-based charitable medical clinic for the uninsured in Bakersfield come true. From purchase of a used mobile unit, securing licenses, recruiting a medical director to fundraising and recruiting churches and volunteers, Jerilyn made it happen.
