I'm excited to announce that acupuncturist, Dawn Sullivan, is practicing with me now.  Saturday office hours will be back in addition to a few other schedule changes.  But wait, there's more (something about free acupuncture down at the bottom?) so read below for more information.

Introducing Acupuncturist, Dawn Sullivan
Dawn Sullivan, L.Ac, DQM

I'm excited to announce that Dawn Sullivan has begun practicing acupuncture and medical qi gong at Morgan Hill Family Wellness.  She has recently relocated from Monterey where she lived and practiced acupuncture for several years.   She now resides in Los Gatos and in addition to practicing at Morgan Hill Family Wellness she also practices at Altos Medical Acupuncture in Los Altos.  When treating clients, Dawn uses her extensive knowledge of the physical and energetic bodies to customize a treatment plan for each individual. She utilizes a blend of Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Medical Qigong, and Tuina massage to best serve the unique needs of her clients.

Dawn  was introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) during her training as a Massage Therapist at Phillips School of massage in Nevada City, CA. During this training, she was exposed to Tuina massage, one of the five branches of Chinese medicine. This initial exposure to Tuina piqued her interest in TCM, and inspired her to further pursue this ancient healing art.

Dawn is a graduate of Five Branches University, one of the oldest schools of TCM in the United States. Her four year, 3200 hour Masters program consisted of Chinese Medical Theory, Acupuncture, Herbology, clinical training, and Western medicine. Today, Dawn is a California Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist. In addition to these qualifications, Dawn is a Doctor of Medical Qigong, a Licensed Massage Therapist, and a Certified Five Element Acupuncture Practitioner.

In February, 2012, Dawn received her doctoral degree in Medical Qigong from the International Institute of Medical Qigong in Monterey, California, which has been in existence since 1985. She was trained by the founder of the Institute, Dr. Jerry Alan Johnson. Her doctoral thesis documented the increased therapeutic benefits of incorporating Medical Qigong into traditional massage.

Dawn is honored to be a student of Dr. Johnson, with whom she continues to study the ancient practices of Daoist mysticism. This additional training has exposed her to the foundational Daoist texts, philosophical concepts and energetic principles that form the core of TCM theory. To better understand the medicine, she has traveled to China multiple times to immerse herself in Chinese philosophy and culture.

Kids Love Acupuncture Schedule
Robin & Bryce

The Kids Love Acupuncture Club™ or KLA Club has been a huge success and over the coming months we plan to expand the program to meet the overwhelming demand.  It is so wonderful to see all the kids on these special treatment days.  Even though my regular schedule is changing I will continue to offer these special monthly appointments on a Friday afternoon.  Unfortunately due to a schedule conflict I had to cancel the June 29th session for the KLA club, but we will resume treatments on Friday, August 3rd.

The goal of the club is to help children thrive by providing wellness treatments to keep the body in balance and prevent illness. When kids get sick we also provide treatments that focus on a safe and quick resolution to illness using herbal medicine and acupuncture therapy. Children are treated using either acupuncture or non-needle therapies that are safe, effective and painless.  Club Benefits include low cost monthly wellness visits, discounted sick visits and more...
