Pathways Peer Support Program
The NEW Pathways Peer Support Program will be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday’s from 11am-3pm beginning October 2, 2017. Daily there will be time for Morning Check-in, a brief group to check in with participants to see how they are feeling and see what supports are needed for the day; time for socialization and lunch (bring your own, unless the calendar indicates lunch is provided); an educational group or group activity. Monthly there will be a baking group and celebration of birthdays!

We will be planning fun trips and activities as part of the Pathways 201: Help Plan Your Program group. If you want to be a part of the planning you must attend this group! Won’t it be fun to plan a November outing together?

A.C.C.A.D.A. Annual Meeting
The A.C.C.A.D.A. ANNUAL MEETING – October 20, 2017
A.C.C.A.D.A. will be holding an Annual Meeting and Luncheon on October 20,2017.
The Annual Meeting of the ASHLAND COUNTY COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG ABUSE, INC. is an occasion when staff, board, council members and the general public meet to review the past year’s activities and accomplishments.
We think you will enjoy meeting our staff and finding out what services A.C.C.A.D.A. has available for Ashland County residents and agencies. A.C.C.A.D.A. is actively involved in the community providing treatment and prevention services.

Guest presenter will be:
Mr. David Ross, Associate Director, Ashland County Mental Health & Recovery Board " Alcohol/Drug Services in Ashland County "

The Annual Meeting will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 , from 11:45-1:00 at “Kroc Center” (527 East Liberty Street). Lunch will be served at the cost of $5.00 per person. This will also cover Council membership, if so desired.

Suicide Prevention Walk 1k-5K

On October 22nd 2017 join us at Freer Field ( 2:00 pm) for our first Suicide prevention Awareness 1k-5k walk. There will be t-shirts available with a suggested minimum donation of $10.00

In 2016, 4 people in Ashland County died by suicide. Every life lost to suicide, on average, severely impacts six other people who are themselves at high risk for suicide. 

The Mental Health & Recovery Board along with members of the Ashland County Suicide Prevention Coalition are joining others in recognizing 'National Suicide Prevention Month'.

Annual Dinner
On Oct 3 rd Dinner was served to our MHRB board members, our funded agencies, and several individuals from the community. It was a night of recognition of all the great services we provide now and soon to come within our community.  Ron Coleman our Keynote speaker helped us understand the importance of personal narrative in a journey of recovery. It was a good Evening had by all.

10th Annual Pat Risser RSVP Conference
On October 4 th 100 people attended the Conference hosted by The Mental Health & Recovery Board and Disability Rights Ohio. Our Main attraction Ron Coleman and Karen Taylor spoke about the events leading to Ron’s entry to psychiatric services and his journey to a world full of voices and chaos to inspiring us to his recovery and resolution. Sorry if we missed you hope to see you next year!

Children's Grief and Loss: Opportunities for Building Resiliency
On Friday Nov. 17 th Hospice of North Central Ohio and The Mental Health & Recovery Board of Ashland County will be hosting Children’s Grief and Loss.
Children experience many types of loss. A persistent myth is that they can “get over it” naturally as they grow. This training explores the impact of loss and grief in children and provides professionals and families with multiple tools to build essential “bounce back” skills.
