Hello & happy February. It's been a great 2017 so far, with an expanded staff, growing membership and expanded partnerships. Only way we can do this is through your support as members - THANK YOU!!!!

Below you can meet Kim & Hannah who are here to connect our membership with the industry's best :) Please help me welcome them into our organization and call on them for any support you may need.

Mark Denny of WCP Solutions engaged students in paper manufacturing job insights
The support of the PPI Educational Trust has been amazing and key in getting us into the Graphic Communication programs regionally. If you've already donated, YOU ROCK! Our goal is to revitalize the #Print conversation, engage faculty and students and incorporate relevant curriculum back into current programs
in the future, creating a pipeline of employees. If you have a school or instructor we should connect with in your area, let us know. If you haven't donated or set up an automatic monthly / annual payment contact our office. Your investment of money and time if you have to attend career fairs or host a career day means everything to the success of our efforts. <3 email us

I am sad to share that we are saying so long to a West Coast institution this month - Cenveo Graphic Arts Center in Portland is closing their doors. I remember hanging in the client lounge and all the press checks years ago when I worked in ad agencies. PPI is working in tandem with their HR department to make sure this group of stellar employees find solid places to land. MEMBERS -- If you have openings let us know and we will pass along.

Hope you enjoy this simplified format, our weekly updates and let me introduce our renewed vision statement - Engage! Explore! Energize! Excel!

On that note. Have a wonderful week! Cheers -

Dynamic Ratios Overview

The Analytics from PIA's Dynamic Ratios just barely scratch the surface of the information available. Printers use Dynamic Ratios reports to evaluate their performance against industry profit leaders. From this information you can evaluate your strengths and weakness in terms of expenses, productivity, revenue sources, assets, liabilities, and much more. Specific reports are available for various firm profiles by size of firm, printing process, and print market segments.

The Flash Report provides a summary of the 2016 findings which are available to PPI members. Visit the PIA Website to order your Ratios volume or to explore the new options.

How to Develop Marketing Content that Resonates

Cary Sherburne, Senior Editor at What They Think, and Margie Dana, Content Strategist for the printing industry, discuss how printers can present their technology content in a way that is understandable to customers. Dana recommends investigating all available channels, such images or video, and creating small bits of content to get started. It is important to think about the customer and using language that they will understand. Creating content in terms that resonate with the customer is critical. See the the full video here.
