New Hampshire Releases First Annual Report

Military Compact Commissioner, Kathleen Murphy, also the School Superintendent of Hampton School District-SAU 90, recently released the State Council's first Annual Report which highlights their work over the past year. The council and the New Hampshire Department of Education are building a webpage to post information for military families.

Florida Releases First Compact Newsletter

Developed by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) and the State Council, it provides valuable information for districts and schools on supporting military students. Florida Commissioner Bob Buehn recognized Curtis Jenkins, FLDOE School Counseling Consultant, for his hard work and efforts. Way to go!

IN THE NEWS - SUPPORT MILITARY FAMILIES

An estimated 1.75 million U.S. children have one or more parents serving in the military. Although many of these children live in areas with a heavy concentration of military members, many national guard, selected reserve and active duty families live in areas more isolated from the support and resources provided on military installations. .

DUES - SEC 2.104 (d)

The dues formula shall be based on the figure of one dollar per child of military families eligible for transfer under this compact, and beginning in FY 2014 this calculation shall be based upon the State in which each military family resides, except that effective FY 2013, and each year thereafter, no state dues assessment shall exceed the sum of sixty thousand dollars ($60,000.00) per year and effective FY 2014, and each year thereafter, no state dues assessment shall be less than two thousand dollars ($2,000.00).
