Wakeup!, a MLK cartoon by Donny Frank Morris
Greetings!
Have you picked up your copy of the January Hillsider? We have three pieces of local artwork, including a cartoon by Donny Frank Morris. Allegra Henderson wrote an article about a new program called Parents And Students Succeeding which focuses on encouraging parents to get involved with their children's education.
Mayor Don Ness in a Hillsider T-shirt. Phone 728-1031 to buy a T-shirt.
Ever wonder how DEDA (Duluth Economic Development Authority) works? Zach Hammer does a good job of explaining how some Duluth housing and jobs were created with this program.
Rolf Flaig, a local businessman, wrote a column about his concern over a big box pharmacy store's plan to purchase an entire block and wipe out a strip mall of locally owned businesses.
And don't miss our columnists. Each has a finger on the pulse of our community.

Price is for the size of ad. Design fees are extra. Remember simple ads reproduce the best in our paper. Ads created to be black and white are best. Deadline for the February issue is Tuesday, January 18. (Early submissions are welcome.)
So, if you haven't already picked up a January issue of The Hillsider, what are you waiting for? Go get a copy. Read our stories and send us a letter and tell us what you think.
