Lenten Changes

Brothers and Sisters,

Here we are in the midst of Lent-wasn't the Christmas season just a couple of weeks ago? We have gone from Christmas to Ordinary Time and now Lent in just a few short weeks-major changes in our spiritual lives.

Along with these major changes there has been a change in Leadership. With the opening in the Head of Office for Education the Leadership Team voted to put me in that position. I am honored....please keep me in your prayers.

We in the Leadership Team would like to provide innovative and creative opportunities for our members by producing a  series of web meetings where we can come together as a virtual community to pray and learn together.

In addition we will be updating our website to make it easier to navigate and share resources such as community prayer services, Marianist prayers, and a Members Directory, etc.

We will continue the monthly newsletter with information about community activities.

We are looking for volunteers to help with some of these endeavors.  Please see the MLNNA Update.

As the newest member of the Leadership Team I've been asked to tell you a little about myself. I first began Marianist life the summer of 2004 when I was invited to join a group Fr. Al McMenemy was starting in Springfield, Illinois. We spent two and a half years in formation before our affiliation ceremony October 19, 2007.  Since then I have taken several courses from NACMS and will begin the Marianist Lay Formation Initiative (MLFI) in April.

I began my career with a B.A. in Psychology and an ADN in Nursing, later getting a MA in Clinical Psychology, Certificate in Healthcare Ethics and a theology degree-Master of Arts in Healthcare Mission- from Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis.  I spent most of my career as a Psychiatric nurse and the last eight years of my career as the Assistant Vice President for Sponsorship and Governance for Hospital Sisters Health System.

I was married to a wonderful man, Leonard, for 26 years before he passed away in 2001. We are blessed with a beautiful daughter, Christine, who is married with two children, Brayden and Isla, and lives in Chicago with her husband, Ross.

Have a great Lent,

Terri Maze

MLNNA Update

Thank you for your generous response to our Fall Annual Appeal. At the end of February, we have received $8,491 in donations and have $410 in outstanding pledges for a total of $8,901 towards our goal of $18,000.

We want to provide new programs for our members this year and raise enough funds to avoid using our reserves. If you haven't made a donation yet, there's still time. The guideline is one hour of income per member. Thank you for your continuing generosity. If you'd like to make a one-time or recurring online contribution, click here. You may also send a check to the address at the end of the newsletter.

If you have news to share about your MLC, please send it to [email protected].
