WMS Math Team
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

Good morning,

Hip hip hooray to the Wayland Middle School Math Team! The team did exceptionally well in their last meet winning with 180 points! This is the first time in over ten years that we have taken first place at the meet. The math team competes against other schools in our regional cluster 5 times a year. Our competitors are: Weston Middle School, Meadowbrook School, Natick Kennedy and Natick Wilson. Congratulations to all who participated. Special congratulations to Nathan Zhao for his perfect score!

Warm regards,

6th & 7th Grade Parents

Student Placement Requests

May 15 Deadline

Considerable thought and effort are given to student scheduling here at WMS. It is a highly complex, intricate, and time-consuming process.  Parents may make specific placement requests under the following circumstances:

  • If you have concerns about a teacher based on an older sibling's experience, you may request a different teacher for your child. You may not, however, request a specific teacher.
  • If your child has had difficulty with a specific student which has negatively impacted your child's ability to learn, you may request that the children be placed in separate clusters.

To be considered, all placement requests must be sent to no later Friday, May 15, and must include your child's first and last name, and grade in September. Although we will work hard to honor your request, we cannot make any guarantees.

Sports Clearance

Deadline Extended - April 15

Due to the still snowy, wet, muddy conditions of our playing fields, and limited indoor practice space, WPS Athletic Director Stephen Cass has delayed the official start of WMS spring sports to Monday, April 27. We have therefore also extended sports clearance to April 15.
