BERT 2.0 launches this week
An exciting design challenge for students

Today we welcome back our students, refreshed and recharged after vacation, and ready for new challenges. One such challenge is the "BERT 2.0" redesign. Please read below to learn more about re-envisioning "BERT" for our current community, and encourage your student to take part in the process!

The email your students will receive today:

Welcome back from vacation!  I am writing to you this morning to offer you a creative opportunity.   For the past 6+ years we have relied upon the image of BERT drawn in 2010 by 8th grader Roxy Habibi to provide us with a visual reminder of the Belonging, Empathy, Respect and Trust that we look to develop throughout the middle school years.  While we remain deeply committed to the framework of BERT, the image needs an update to reflect our students and school today.

It seems like good time to create BERT 2.0.  We are looking for a team of students to get creative to develop a concept for a new visual logo and mascot.  If you are interested, I ask that you attend an information session with Mr. Curran during one of the following times:

  • Wednesday, February 24: during 7th grade lunch
  • Thursday, February 25: during 8th grade lunch
  • Friday, February 26: during 6th grade lunch

If you cannot attend one of these sessions, please contact Mr. Curran to schedule an alternate time.

Those who attend an info session will be given more details about our process and expectations, and they will begin brainstorming potential new concepts. Happy creating!
