WaylandCares MS Youth Leadership Group
New Students Welcome!
On-going every Wednesday at 1:15 - 2:00

WaylandCares has formed a new Middle School Youth Leadership program to offer students the opportunity to celebrate making healthy decisions to abstain from alcohol, tobacco and other drug use as minors. The group is also focused on community service, community awareness and providing opportunities for your child to be a leader within the community.

Wayland Middle School staff member Elsie Cerrone has been advising the Youth Leadership Group with support from Jason Verhoosky, Director of WaylandCares. Each week we start with check-ins and educational resources, then play leadership and teamwork games, and finally do group work on community projects. In addition to weekly meetings, your child may be invited to participate in additional community events or education opportunities.

WaylandCares is a community coalition focused on reducing youth substance use and abuse  in Wayland, Mass. In addition, we focus on the larger topic of helping the community of  Wayland to be the healthiest community it can be. We work towards these goals by utilizing  evidence-based curriculum, MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey Report Data, Educational  Outreach to both youth and parents, and by forming partnerships and supporting other organizations community wide.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call WaylandCares at 508.358.6825 or Jason_Verhoosky@wayland.k12.ma.us..
