Friday, May 10 - Plan to attend the 2013 Chick-fil-A Leadercast, broadcast live from Atlanta, GA and hosted on the campus of MidAmerica Nazarene University! This year's event will empower you with life-changing insights from world renowned leaders.

Alumni Award Nominations
Last Call For Nominations
The MNU Office of Alumni Relations is now accepting nominations for 2013 Alumni Awards.  The awards will be presented during the 2013 Homecoming Dinner Celebration on Saturday, October 12. The theme for Homecoming 2013 is Celebrating the Passion to Serve. Nominations are open for anyone, but we would especially like to receive nominations for outstanding alumni who are serving or have served in missions and/or student missions.  To review the criteria for each award and make a nomination, please visit Nominations are due before May 8, 2013.
General Assembly 2013
MNU alumni and fellow Nazarenes unite!  Don't miss the quadrennial MNU Alumni & Friends Luncheon at General Assembly.  The luncheon will take place Sunday, June 23, 2013, after the morning service at the Indianapolis Convention Center, Westin Ballroom 1-2-3.  You will hear from Dr. David J. Spittal, president of MNU, the Collegiate Quartet and more!  Online registration is now available at

Sunday, August 4 - Saddle up your horse and get on down to Southwest Kansas for the Dodge City Roundup Rodeo!  The excitement begins at Cimmaron Church of the Nazarene with a homestyle chuckwagon dinner, featuring live music.  Then, it's on to the Dodge City Rodeo.

October 11-13, 2013 - Plan now to attend Homecoming 2013, which includes a full weekend of Homecoming activities.  Homecoming 2013 will offer something for everyone, so mark the dates on your calendar today!

NCAA Tourney Challenge Winners
Congratulations to the 2013 MNUMNU Basketball Alumni & Friends NCAA Tournament Challenge winners.  We had a great turnout with entries coming in from across the country.  Here are the final results:

1st Place:  Robert DuPrau, Rochester, NY
2nd Place:  Kevin Schafer, Clay City, IN
3rd Place:  Jillian Haynes, Kansas City, MO

Thanks to everyone who competed.  We look forward to another exciting tournament challenge next year!

Congratulations to the following alumni:


Rev. M. Kim Smith ('75) was recently appointed as district superintendant of the Iowa District.


Kindra Bible ('99)

recently began working for Extreme Nazarene Ministries in Quito, Ecuador, as Education Manager. Previously, she served four years in Arequipa, Peru.

Kristine Rhoads ('84) ran for Alderwoman in the City of St. Louis in the April 2013 election. Even though her bid was unsuccessful, it was a productive challenge for her and gave voters a choice and a chance to make a difference in St. Louis.


Ben Moore ('94) was recently featured as local NBC affiliate KTVB 7's Hero for the campus ministry and food pantry he operates at Boise State University. To read the article online, go here: To find out more about his ministry, check out 


Lisa Najarian ('07) graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2012.  Dr. Najarian now practices as an Associate Veterinarian at Southside Pet Hospital in Olathe, KS.


Mike Jasiczek ('02) won the Fox 4 Crystal Apple Award for teaching excellence! For more information, check out the story here: 


Jon Bell ('07) was named principal at Westview Elementary in the Olathe School District.


Billy Wilson ('95) recently completed the Doctor of Ministry program at George Fox University in Semiotics and Future Studies.


Dr. Brent Moore ('00), counselor education, was honored at the Northland Chamber Excellence in Education Banquet for outstanding instructional practices at MNU.


Dan Rushing ('00), founder and CEO of Xtari Games and Dan Rushing Ministries, recently launched his first Facebook game: President Nation. For more about Xtari Games, go to, or play the game at


Dr. W. Glen Gardner II ('77) was recently appointed as District Superintendent for the Eastern Michigan district. His wife, Kayla (King, '77) Gardner is also an MNU graduate.
