-- MONDAY MESSAGE --
New Members, Events & More
05/20/13
Good afternoon,

Before I update you on all the chamber and member happenings, I want to make you aware of next Monday's Memorial Day Ceremony. The City of Wauwatosa Civic Celebration Committee in coordination with the City of Wauwatosa has a wonderful, hour-long program planned this year. The featured speaker is Eugene G. Schultz, a WWII combat veteran and author. Schulz was an eyewitness to the first Nazi concentration camp that was discovered in Germany by American troops. His experiences and daily activities as an army soldier were recorded in his diary, and he will speak to his experience. This is an awesome opportunity to recognize our servicemen and women, and I urge you to attend. You will not be disappointed. For more information, please click here.

Last week, Terry attended a meeting of TAPP, Tosa Area Preparedness Partners. This was a high quality meeting where public and private entities learn about and discuss important safety issues. This meeting focused on tornadoes from a meteorological, emergency management, and personal viewpoint.

John Grno and I attended the BizTimes Expo last Thursday at Potawatomi Bingo Casino. It was great to visit with some of our chamber members and meet some new companies, as well.

Here are Dean Hoppe-Hoppe Tree Service, Lisa Hoppe-Lisa Hoppe Travel Consulting and Art Flater-Central Office Systems.

Our next After Hours Networking Event has been scheduled. Please mark your calendar for Wednesday, May 29 for a joint event with the West Allis/West Milwaukee Chamber at new chamber member, Ella's Barestaurant (formerly Sluggo's). This event is open to the public. Bring your co-workers and friends and double your networking power with two chambers. Register here.

All of our members have been invited to attend an informational program titled, "Healthcare Reform: Fast Forward to 2014." Members will learn about the major provisions of the Affordable Care Act and how to prepare for the coming changes from Wisconsin's largest health insurance provider, UnitedHealthcare of Wisconsin. If you are a member and have not received an email invitation to attend this program, please let me know. This program is a benefit to our members and only members may attend. Members: Register here.

Have you taken our very brief survey on shaping our UWM Small Business Education program? If not, please take two minutes and complete it now

New Member: Please join us in welcoming:

Wauwatosa Neighborhood Association Council (NAC)
Contact: Robin Luther
Phone: (414) 758-6538

We are so excited to partner with NAC! The NAC's primary focus is to educate and inform Neighborhood Associations and Wauwatosa residents about upcoming civic and social events, quality-of-life issues, and meetings in the community, including city and County government announcements. The Wauwatosa Chamber's newsletter will also be forwarded by the NAC as another way of getting out our chamber news.

We will partner with NAC on creating a consistent "Welcome Pack" program for all the neighborhood associations to distribute to new neighbors. If you are interested in having your business included in a new neighbor welcome pack, please let me know.
