A Bit of Extra Cheer for January
MPINE partners with Operation American Soldier
If you attended the December event at Capo, you may have seen guests filling out cards as part of Operation American Soldier, an organization that supports our troops overseas by providing love and support in the form of letters from home.  Along with the holiday cards, we will be sending out a few more this month and hope to continue our partnership in the future.  Thank you so much for your support!

Operation American Soldier (OAS) was created by John and Wendy Rocca when their daughter Tracy was in Iraq and became 501(c) compliant in 2008. After hearing that some of the other soldiers weren’t receiving any support from home, they wanted to help. They asked for some names and addresses to ship to. Each box contained a letter from Wendy and John asking if there were any other soldiers that need support. Well the list of soldiers grew and grew.

They have shipped to more than 1500 soldiers, 100000+ pounds of cheer so far!

OAS exists to support and encourage the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen/women of the United States Armed Forces. Their goal is to “Let no one walk away from mail call empty handed”. As long as there are wars/conflicts in which our troops serve, Operation American Soldier will ship “cheer boxes”.

Have you made any New Year’s resolutions this year?  Are you hoping to make improvements in how you do your work?  In your personal life?  The start of a new year is a  great time to evaluate your work and personal lives, identify what’s working and what you’d like to improve.  But how do you ensure that your resolutions actually make a difference this time around?
The five keys to successful resolutions are:
  • 1.Setting Realistic Goals that will make a difference in your life
  • 2.Writing them down and making them public
  • 3.Planning ahead for challenges
  • 4.Tracking your results and celebrating your success
  • 5.Getting support.

Continuing Education- What Counts for CMP?

By Joanne Dennison, CMP

If someone wants to apply for the CMP or recertify, one of the requirements for most applicants, is 25 hours of continuing education. Three of the most common points of confusion are:

  • What is a continuing education hour?
  • What content counts?
