PlanIt Tennessee

Is it July already?! It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating our Circle of Excellence Award Winners at the Annual Gala! What an amazing year we've had.

I am honored to be your President for the 2014-2015 year. Thank you for entrusting me to lead our organization; I have big shoes to fill as we've had amazing leadership from our past MPI:TN presidents!

Over the next year, I encourage you to get involved in your chapter. Volunteer for a committee or to complete a small task. Attend one (or more!) of the 30+ Educational & Networking Events that are held statewide. Showcase your business & become an MPI:TN Strategic Partner. Get involved with MPI on a global level by attending WEC 2014 in Minneapolis. This is YOUR CHAPTER!

Please do not hesitate to reach out to any one of our Board Members should there be anything we can do to enhance your membership. Our organization is only as good as its members and we truly have the best.

How Your Selfie Can Help You Network

(This is just a summary, to read the full article by Philip Calvert go to LinkedIn)

Who doesn't love a good selfie? We see them on twitter, facebook and maybe even in a text message from your mother - who at her age you didn't even realize owned a smart phone! But selfies are around to stay so why not help yourself or your attendee's better network through this quick pic!

Quick tips to better help your attendee's network at your event:

  1. Promote the conference #hashtag pre, during and post event.
  2. Have attendees upload a selfie during online registration and print on their badge, include their hashtag.
  3. Encourage attendees to take selifes when sitting next to someone they have never met, broadcast on a main screen between sessions or in and around the registration / exhibit area.
  4. Include a selfie wall.
  5. Use selfies instead of place cards at dinner.
  6. Have your speakers take a live shot during their session of the audience, post and let attendees tag themselves.
We are only limited by our imagination so incorporating something fun and interactive can not only get your attendees talking and networking but most likely laughing together.
