Catholic Schools Week!
Are you ready? Our favorite time of year when we get to celebrate all the benefits of a Catholic school education. Lots more information will be coming your way but in the meantime, here is a snapshot:
As a Diocese, Bishop John has asked us to help find a way to support the influx of hundreds of children into the foster care system in Kentucky. Each of our schools are going to putting together backpacks for these children and donate them to our county foster care agency. We will be putting the gifts together at our family Mass on Tuesday, and taking them to the Cathedral on Wednesday.
unday, January 28 - Open House 12:00 - 3:00
Please join us for Mass and then come over to our Open House - don't forget to bring a friend or two! We will have tours of the school available and different groups performing during the Open House. Students who come to Mass in their school uniform will receive the golden out of uniform ticket!
Monday, January 29 - Show your spirit!
Students may wear their favorite team jersey with their uniform bottoms today. We will also be "voting" today for who we think will win the Superbowl by bringing can foods to donate to God's Pantry and place your can in the bucket of the team you think is going to win. You can vote with as many donations as you would like to bring.
Tuesday, January 30 - Family Day
All families are invited and encouraged to join us for Mass this morning at 8:15. It will be a special time for us to share with you. After Mass, two of Lexington Catholic's accapela groups will be performing for our enjoyment!
Wednesday, January 31 - Catholic School Community
Our fourth grade and a few of our middle school students will be heading over to the Cathedral to celebrate Mass with representatives from our other Diocesan Schools. In the afternoon, we have a special program for all the students to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. It is also crazy sock day.
Thursday, February 1 - Panther Palooza!!
Today is the rock star day, our Panther Palooza.
Friday, February 2 - Student Day
The long awaited student day is Friday. It will be a packed day full of fun things for our students. We will dismiss at 1:00 today so that I can take the staff out to lunch. We will not be providing after school care today so that our after school care staff can join us for lunch.
How can you help?
Come to the Open House and Family Mass
Send in small prizes for our bingo on Friday. Nothing big, please, the kiddos are happy with anything.
Send in $2 per child for the teacher luncheon
Send in your support for the Foster Care backpacks and for our canned food drive.
