MARQUETTE CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WALK TO CELEBRATE COMMUNITY AND RAISE MONEY FOR CAMPUS IMPROVEMENTS
Michigan City, Indiana - May 5, 2017 -
Marquette Catholic High School students walked throughout Michigan City on Friday, May 5th to not only raise money for campus improvements but to also celebrate their more than 130 year history and strong position in the Michigan City community.
The funds raised from this event will support the school's performing arts department, the continuation of the gymnasium renovation, campus beautification and an outdoor dining area for MQTT students.
Bishop Donald Hying, bishop of the Diocese of Gary, is matching all monies raised by the school, up to $500,000. The money will support the school's strategic plan which includes campus improvements and upgrades and additional programs for the MQTT students.
Principal, James G. White states, "This walk was just a glimpse into the excitement that surrounds everything we have going on at Marquette Catholic High School. We are so proud and thankful to be part of Michigan City, its history and, especially, its future of which we know we are an integral part. The generosity of our Bishop and donors will afford us $1 million to achieve the goals of our strategic plan."
