Fired Up, Ready To Go!
Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr., Lady Tiffany E. Grant King, and the Memorial Tabernacle Family welcome you to our worship services. We invite you to become a part of a growing ministry that is "reaching to teach, teaching to change" one person and one block at a time. We pray you will enjoy the service and worship again with us.
Our Mission...
The Memorial Tabernacle Church has come together by the Holy Spirit for the specific purpose of preaching and teaching the word of God, (the Bible), and about Jesus Christ, God's son, and to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the North Oakland Community and its environs; to bring healing to the brokenhearted and deliverance to the oppressed.

Notes On Sunday's Sermon
"I KNOW WHO YOU ARE" (
John 4:1-30)
There by Jac
ob's well, Jesus seeks to put this outcast Samaritan woman at ease. Jesus says to the woman, "I know who you are." And then He adds, "Now let me tell you who I am. I am the living water, which never stops flowing. I am the Messiah for whom the world is waiting." And the Samaritan woman is privileged to receive the Christ's self-revelation. Jesus speaks his heart to her heart, and she runs to share the good news.
This story is a mirror of our experience. How often do we play the Samaritan woman, defensive before others and before our Lord, fearful of what is in our past and what is in our hearts, unwilling to reveal ourselves freely, even to the One who offers us living water. How often do we create for ourselves a lonely isolation that stems from shame, self-criticism, and pain.
In one sense it is terrifying to realize that our hearts are indeed open to God, that God knows our secrets, our embarrassment, our shame, and our dirt. Yet, in another sense, this knowledge is wonderful, a gift of grace that lifts a heavy burden. No secrets can be hid from God. We don't need to pretend to be who we are not. Before God, our hearts are laid open, the worst is made plain, and still God considers us worthy to meet the Messiah and receive forgiveness in Christ.-USK

No invitation or fan fare required! (This is a video from Pastor Lyons' 34th Anniversary Appreciation Celebration Friday, September 24, 2016.)
