Intentional Witness

Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr., Lady Tiffany E. Grant King, and the Memorial Tabernacle Family welcome you to our worship services.  We invite you to become a part of a growing ministry that is "reaching to teach, teaching to change" one person and one block at a time.   We pray you will enjoy the service and worship again with us.

Our Mission...
The Memorial Tabernacle Church has come together by the Holy Spirit for the specific purpose of preaching and teaching the word of God, (the Bible), and about Jesus Christ, God's son, and to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the North Oakland Community and its environs; to bring healing to the brokenhearted and deliverance to the oppressed.
Never Goodbye: Appreciating the Moses Family
Sunday, June 11, 2017

Since 1990, Deacon Robert and Connie  Moses, and Family, have been faithful members of the Memorial Tabernacle Church Family. Sadly however, we must now say, 'Goodbye.' On June 16th they will be moving to Fairburn, Georgia, where they will begin a new chapter in their lives.

Over the past twenty-seven years, Deacon  Moses have served the church as a deacon, choir and praise team member, Sunday school teacher, Breakfast in Bed team leader and numerous other helps ministries throughout the church. Sister Connie  Moses has served in the Missions Ministry, Sunday school teacher, Breakfast in Bed team co-leader, prayer ministry, and other helps in the church as well. They genuinely love and supported Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr. in the vision and mission of the church.

June 11th will be the last Sunday they will worship with us. Join us as we say, "God bless, and farewell" to these wonderful, faithful supporters, and people of God. They will be genuinely missed.
Notes On Sunday's Sermon

"IN THE MARKETPLACE" ( Acts 3:1-9):

The Church work is not a one-man show. Church work is teamwork. What you got to understand is that you're not in this alone. Church work is teamwork: All of us working together for the cause of Christ. Let me serve notice on you. If you've been filled with the Holy Spirit, you and I will work together. Peter and John are walking together. Look at them, shoulder to shoulder. Look  at them, walking side by side. Now they are in the market place. They had to get to the temple because it was now the hour of prayer. But in route to the temple, they had gone through by way of the market place.

We need to stop here and look at the market place. First of all I need to tell you what the market place is all about. The market is anywhere you feel that is beneath you. There were merchants in the market place. There were homeless people in the market place. There were peddlers selling their wares in the market place. There were also thieves and murderers in the market place. There were women of the evening strolling in the market place.

Now Peter and John were on their way to the temple, but they journeyed through the market place. On our way to church, there's a job to be done in the market place. Some of us turn up our noses while we are going through the market place. We turn our nose up and don't want to brush up against anybody in the market place. Don't want to talk to anybody while we are in the market place. But there's a job for the church in the market place. The church's job is not between these four walls. Our mission is out there in the market place. If you've got so much religion then you ought to be talking to somebody, witnessing to somebody, testifying to somebody-not in the church, but in the market place.

Because of Chri st,

Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr.
