"Being Green at School": Youth Going Green August Meet-up

Excited to kick-off Youth Going Green for the new school year! All young people ages 8 to 17 are encouraged to engage! The theme is "Being Green at School: It's More Than Just A Color".

Highlighting ways young people can influence green behaviors (composing, recycling, waste reduction, etc) in their personal lives as related to their homes, schools, city, jobs, and the collective impact of doing it toget her!
  • Mayor Libby Schaaf of the City of Oakland will share on her passion for green initiatives and hopes for the new school year!
  • Ms. Patrice Moses, Co-Founder of Youth Going Green & 11th grade Scholar in Atlanta, Georgia will share how she is influencing the fast food industry to compost!
  • Wisdom Supply Co. who are disrupting what is called the shelf-to-shore pipeline, will share on the "waste" in our schools and highlight solutions reduce it!
  • Youth from the Ecology Center's YEA Program will share on their personal work experiences as participants in the Youth Environmental Academy.

93rd Church Anniversary Celebration

We are standing on the promises of God as we enter our 93rd year of excellence in ministry, service, sharing, and impact. Our theme is "From Generation to Generation: Ninety-three Years of Faithful Witness" - Exodus 12:13-14

All are need to participate as the anniversary is for us to celebrate! Think of which generation you belong to:
  • GI Generation - Born 1901-1924
  • Silent Generation - Born 1925-1942
  • Baby Boomers - Born 1943-1964
  • Generation X - Born 1965-1979
  • Millennials - Born 1980-2000
  • Generation Z - Born 2001-2013

Each generation is tasked with identifying a way they can do to demonstrate the impact the church has had on their generation and to invite their generation to the celebration for continued engagement beyond. The celebration activities are as follows:
  • Friday - TBD
  • Saturday - Salad & Soup Festival, 5:30-8:00PM
  • Sunday - Celebration Worship Service, 10:30AM
