Fired Up, Ready To Go!
Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr., Lady Tiffany E. Grant King, and the Memorial Tabernacle Family welcome you to our worship services. We invite you to become a part of a growing ministry that is "reaching to teach, teaching to change" one person and one block at a time. We pray you will enjoy the service and worship again with us.
Our Mission...
The Memorial Tabernacle Church has come together by the Holy Spirit for the specific purpose of preaching and teaching the word of God, (the Bible), and about Jesus Christ, God's son, and to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the North Oakland Community and its environs; to bring healing to the brokenhearted and deliverance to the oppressed.

Notes On Sunday's Sermon
"POWER OF MEMORY" (Joshua 4:1-7):
In the text we read earlier in Joshua, chapter 4, the context by which this passage reads is very significant. The Children of Israel had wandered in the wilderness for forty years. Moses had just died and Joshua had become the new leader. Israel found themselves back at the same place their fathers were forty
years ago standing on the edge of the land God had promised to give them.
Here at the shore of the Jordan River, God caused the water to part and the people to walk across into the Promised Land, on dry land (very reminiscent of the parting of the Red Sea). Once on the other side of the Jordan River, Joshua called for a memorial to be constructed out of the stones that lay at the bottom of the Jordan River. WHY? So that the people would never forget their God, his provisions, and the miracles He performed on their behalf. And, so that they would never forget their heritage, and their past.
Memorials help us preserve memories. God memorialized many important things and events in the Old Testament. The stones were to be a memorial and a reminder to future generations that the people of Israel crossed the Jordan because of God and not because of their own ability.
Hebrews 12:3 says, "Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Remember what Jesus has done for you! Be encouraged that Jesus goes before us, and stay faithful!
