Hello everybody!
As I write this, LA is getting it's first substantial rainfall in a long time. That's the only way that you know we have finally changed seasons! So Happy Fall!
I have another great month of shows! Diva Thursday's w/Shea Welsh & Friends will proudly be featuring Melanie Taylor, one of LA's most in demand Background vocalists! She's worked with Aerosmith, Bette Midler, John Mayer, Quincy Jones, etc. etc. Michelle Coltrane and I will be preparing for our show at The Miami Jazz Fest, our debut with new management company Cadenza! There is also a shot from a recent movie recording session that I did with film composer Alex Wurman, and a new video is in from The Paul McDonald Big band in concert!

I had a great session last week with film composer Alex Wurman, (Anchorman, March of The Penguins), for an upcoming Disney movie, Cloud 9, out in January 2014! Hard rock during a snowboarding scene! All those hours of listening to Sabbath and Van Halen paying off! See mom, I told ya it was good for me! :)

Junglewood Gala Picnic at the Biomuseo
The Junglewood picnic in the grand Atrium of the Biomuseo
will fuse nature with informal and playful artistic creativity.
It will feature nature-inspired and audience-engaging
performances by world renowned musicians involved
with the Junglewood program of music and nature.
Artists include: Julian Lage, Tupac Mantilla, Juanito Pascual,
and Fundación Danilo Pérez. The program is being directed
by the musician and composer Shea Welsh,
the Executive Director of Junglewood.
Junglewood promises to be an ecological launching pad, an example of the fusion and integration between the immensity of nature and the power of artistic creativity.

@USC Summer Guitar Seminar 2014
The 13th Annual USC Summer Guitar Seminar is right around the corner! After I graduated
with a Masters Degree from The USC
Thornton School of Music Studio/Jazz Guitar Department, they hired me back to design
and direct this class. The intensive 4 week
seminar is designed to prepare high school
guitarists for successful college and professional careers. We have a very high success rate of
our graduates matriculating into USC,
as well as other prestigious music programs
such as New York University,
The Berklee School of Music and
The University of Miami.
