DEADLINE TODAY: 85th Annual Conference -
Call for Papers, Presentations and Posters
|
The Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California (MVCAC) will hold its 85th Annual Conference on March 26-29, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay in San Diego. You are invited to submit a paper or poster for presentation at the conference.
This presentation should be related to mosquitoes or other vectors, the disease organisms they transmit, or their surveillance and control. Presentations may be about research results, the development and testing of new methods, equipment or products, education, community outreach and the adaptation or development of new technology relating to vector research, surveillance or control, or the administration of a vector control agency.
Deadline for submission of the completed "Request to Present a Paper" form has been extended to TODAY January 6th, 2017. We will not extend it any further. Requests received after the deadline may not be accepted.

Job Opening: General Manager of the Merced County Mosquito Abatement District
|
January 6, 2017
The Merced County Mosquito Abatement District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of General Manager.
All applications and resumes should be received by February 3, 2017.

Proposed MVCAC Administrative Policy Change and Dues Policy Change
|
As discussed at the December Planning Meeting, there is a proposed change to the MVCAC Administrative Policy regarding holding a separate budget meeting for those interested in attending.
Also from the planning meeting was establishing deadlines for dues payments and a late fee added to late payments.
These changes will be voted on at the February 6th Board of Directors meeting, so please make sure to discuss your thoughts with your regional representative regarding these changes.

Getting in early to San Diego but you don't golf? Come take a relaxing run or walk along the shore in the First (ever?) MVCAC 5K Run/Walk! Entrants will compete for the top prize on Sunday at 2 pm. All paid entrants will receive a water bottle and a refreshing beverage of their choice at that evening's opening reception. Proceeds will benefit the Munzy Fund.

The form due dates and chicken pick-up dates are as follows:

Pick-up date: March 30, 2017 (8 a.m.) in San Jacinto
Order form due date: March 15, 2017
Northern Region: (Haley's)
Pick-up date: April 20, 2017 (7 a.m. - 9 a.m.) in Modesto

The MVCAC Executive Committee has approved the renewal of the NPDES Coalition Agreement for the monitoring and reporting permit for the period 2016-2021. The agreement and rules were emailed to the Districts, please
contact MVCAC Staff if you need another copy.
We need each member of the Coalition to sign and return the permit application either by mail or email.
