Fun Trip to Northeast Today!
Ask your rising 3rd grader about the clap-out, the walk down the hill, the picnic, and their visit to Northeast!
An FYI to parents - while they were at the park picnic, a storm cloud began to grow - teachers/staff were in contact with the office watching the weather the entire time.  The teachers/staff did make the determination to seek shelter in the fire station.  The kids played games until the buses arrived to bring the kids back to school.
Way to go Samantha!
We usually do our spotlight student in the newsletter - but since our last one has gone to print, we decided to tell you all about Samantha in our blast!

Samantha participated in the Region IV Mayfest vaulting competition this weekend.  Vaulting is best described as dance and gymnastics on horseback.  It's a popular sport in Europe and gaining popularity here is the states.  Samantha had a great weekend and placed 4th in her division.  Way to go Samantha!
Reminder about parties
As the school year draws to a close, please remember that students are welcome to bring treats in for their birthday.  Parents, if you would like to be in class to sing happy birthday, you must coordinate with your child's teacher ahead of time.  Otherwise, please plan on leaving the treats at the front office and they will bring them down to your child's classroom.  Also, per the parent/student handbook, please limit the treats to small items, no toys, and also no nuts;  peanut or tree nut.
Thanks for your help in the home stretch!

Did you know outstanding fees
FOLLOW YOU?
That's right, outstanding fees compound from school year to school year!
If they remain unpaid when your child is prepared to graduate from High School, the district will hold your child's diploma until all bills are settled!
Nip this vicious cycle in the bud!
Login to your parent portal and click on online fee payments tab.
Attention PreK Parents!
Times for next year's PreK Classes are still being worked.
To nip all those nasty rumors in the bud, the PreK staff will pass class times for next year when they are decided upon.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Do you love things like TUG-O-WAR and Hula Hoop Ring Toss?

Are you available Tuesday, May 30th from 9:20-2:30?

If so, please email  Mr. McCarter  to help with 2017 Games Day!
Please remember that instructional time, is just that.  If you forgot a snack or coat (and it happens all the time :)), please plan on dropping those things off at the office rather than walking down to the classroom yourself.  We are in the home stretch and trying to get so much done before the end of the school year - please help us minimize disruptions to your student's classroom!  Thank you!
