After School Calendar and Updates!
|
Click here for our June 2012 after school calendar.
The Milford Youth Center would like to thank Daisy Troop 11369 for making a generous donation of items for the 2012 MYC Summer Camp! The money was raised from this years cookie sale.
The Milford Youth Center and Consigli Construction will receive recognition for being nominated by You Inc. for the "Growing & Readying Our Workforce (GROW)" award through the Central Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board. For the last few years both organizations have been a great supporter of You Inc.'s Education for Employment program for both the Whitinsville and Milford EFE programs. The Milford Youth Center has let the organization use their facility to hold career trainings, fulfill volunteer requirements and mock interviews conducted by Consigli employees. Such valuable resources help the organization to be able to provide youth with opportunities that enhance their resumes and skills. Their collaborations with YOU Inc youth will better ensure these students a successful future and foster their development in the workforce.
The Milford Youth Center would also like to thank both Andy Anderson and Al Correia for allowing MYC and JAG Youth to come to the local cable station. Ten youth were able to learn behind the scenes techniques, including how to use the camera and switch board, while others were on camera describing the different programs offered at the Youth Center. The youth plan to go back in the near future!

JAG Youth Council members look forward to attending the annual Youth Venture Summit this year in Washington DC. Last year four members attended the leadership summit in Milwaukee.
The Youth Venture Summit is the annual gathering of the Youth Venture community. The conference brings together over 100 Youth Venturers and young leaders interested in creating change, as well as the adult allies and professionals who support young changemakers.
If anyone would like to help sponsor and/or donate so more Youth can attend this year, please contact Amy Leone at communityimpactinc@gmail.com or 508-864-6509. For photos from last year's summit, click here.
The JAG Youth Council will be presenting two Youth Venture ideas on Wednesday June 6th.
