The MYC & JAG Youth Council hosted their second "MYC Youth Got Game" Sports Night on Friday, May 31st from 6-8 PM! This event celebrated the importance of physical activity and sports! The event cost $3 per person to attend and included music, sports games, a movie, and a demonstration by UFC fighter, Jorge Rivera!

The JAG Youth Council also presented the first MYC Seaver Scholarships to Ani Sharoogian and John Miranda. This is the first year of the award and we hope to continue to offer it for years to come. This scholarship was created, thanks to a United Way Youth Venture Grant and is sustained through our MYC Youth Got Game Sports Nights and donations. The scholarship was named after our former Chairman, Paul Seaver. Under Paul's leadership the Youth Center has thrived to greater expectations than anyone thought possible. It is now a safe haven for the thousands of youths who attend. Unfortunately Paul passed away this year, but we hope through this scholarship, along with the work we do at the Center, that his legacy and dream will live on.

We would like to thank Jorge Rivera, Jenny Medina, Jeff Brown, Jayna Phelan, Taylor Rental of Norfolk, Jessica Friswell of Youth Venture, and the Milford High School Guidance Department for their help in making this event and scholarship a success! For more photos of the event, click here

The MYC & JAG work together to provide resources and opportunities for youth to make healthy decisions. The MYC & JAG have worked to provide local youth with the necessary activities and events that help them develop physically, mentally, socially and emotionally through their childhood years. By providing Milford youth with these types of programs and a safe environment during the after school hours and during our monthly events, we hope to address adolescent risk factors as well as promoting the partnership among community members to ensure a comprehensive vision and plan for the health of the youth in the town of Milford.
