For the last month, MYC staff and volunteers have been emptying out the building, getting it ready to hand over to the contractors, while also setting up at the temporary location. We will be looking to open for the Youth on Monday, October 27th at 25/27 Congress St (registrations and new policies will be available soon)! The JAG Youth Council Youth Leadership group will begin on Wednesday, October 22nd, from 3-4 PM as well! Finally, the MYC Boxing program is up and running at the Rivera Athletic Center. If there is a youth that would like to participate, the program runs on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 4:30-5:30 PM. We would like to thank Ed Thompson of WMRC, Al Correia and Milford TV for having us on their shows to update the community on the Center and the renovation. We would like to thank Ryder Trucks of Milford for working with us over the month with rental trucks. We would also like to thank Mendon Storage for providing four storage units for us. | Wayside Youth & Family Support Network in Framginham and Waltham will be offering various programs in October:
The Parent Partnership is pleased to offer a FREE group for siblings (Ages 6-12) of children/adolescents with mental health challenges.
When a brother or sister has mental health challenges, the sibling(s) may also be impacted. This support group will allow siblings of children with mental health issues to "kick back", relax and have some fun with other siblings who are experiencing similar life situations.
The club will focus on helping the self-esteem and resiliency of the sibling to better the relationship between the sibling and the brother or sister with mental health issues. The group will meet every other week and will eat pizza, share stories, journal, play games, do arts & crafts, and in general laugh a lot together.
