MYSTERY IN THE MANSION...a fun Mystery Quilt!

Each year about this time, our shop brings you a MYSTERY QUILT pattern.  So, what's a MYSTERY QUILT?  It's a step-by-step quilt pattern and you don't find out what the finished product looks like until the BIG REVEAL in about 8 weeks!  Each week we will include in our shop's emails a series of steps involved with making a quilt.  The first step normally includes several hints about what your quilt will look like, thoughts about fabric choices and fabric requirements.  It also includes cutting instructions.  SO, raid your stash and get ready...we're going to have fun watching this mystery unfold!

So...let's get started with MYSTERY IN THE MANSION.  Download STEP 1 BY CLICKING:  MYSTERY IN THE MANSION STEP 1.

CALLING ALL QUILTERS THAT HAVE BEEN AT THIS FOR A WHILE..... BoDean brought in this amazing ANTIQUE 52" x 72" quilt, and we're looking for hints as to what this pattern & block may be called.

As a gift to BoDean's her grandmother Barbara rescued this quilt and did some repair work on it.  It was made by BoDean's GREAT-GREAT grandmother.  If you have any hints about this quilt or ideas about similar antique quilts, let us know!

We are so happy to have had the opportunity to study this amazing quilt.  It's a perfect example of how quilts really tie generations together!   Love this taste of history.
