Be the Match - Join the Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Donor Registry, do your swab during services on Friday or Saturday.
Every three minutes a person is diagnosed with a blood cancer. These patients are frequently treated with genetically matched stem cells or bone marrow. Unfortunately, at the time of urgent need it can be very hard to find the right match. In response, the
National Marrow Donor Registry Program enrolls healthy 18-44 year olds in the National Bone Marrow & Stem Cell Donor Registry. Participants agree to become a donor by providing a non-invasive mouth swab. Participants can then be matched with cancer patients in the US and in the 57 participating countries. If there is a genetic match, the participant would donate their stem cells or bone marrow through a simple procedure and save the life of another. For more information, please contact
Dr. Paul Zeitz.
