Rush Crossing is a 204-unit multi-family complex in Trenton, New Jersey that was officially certified LEED Silver in March. The apartment community was funded by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) and was able to generate approximately 581 full-time jobs during construction. Developed by Pennrose Properties, it was also the largest housing development in Trenton built in over ten years, taking the place of a long-vacant public housing site. Rush Crossing, which was guided through the LEED certification process by MaGrann Associates, boasts many energy features including moisture control measures, an efficient hot water distribution system, 100% drought-tolerant plants, easy access to open space, and low VOC paints and sealants. | Read more

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) named John C. Anderson Apartments in Philadelphia, a 2015 recipient of an AIA Housing Award for Specialized Housing. Pennrose Properties, LLC and dmhFund developed the acclaimed property, nationally recognized for being one of the first LGBT-friendly senior affordable apartment buildings. Representatives from the development's architect, Wallace Roberts & Todd were on hand to receive the award on May 14th at the AIA Convention in Atlanta Georgia. MaGrann Associates has become a new member of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Better Buildings Residential Network, which connects energy efficiency programs and partners to share best practices and learn from one another to increase the number of homes that are energy efficient.
The Better Buildings Residential Network expands on the foundation of existing Better Buildings Residential programs and partners, which have invested more than $3 billion from federal funding and local resources to build more energy-efficient communities across the United States. One of the country's oldest Professional Home Builder's and Remodelers Associations, the Builders League of South Jersey (BLSJ,) celebrated 75 years of building with over 200 attendees at a Gala Reception on May 20th. Mark MaGrann, Founder and CEO of MaGrann Associates, has great respect and fondness for the leading organization.

The Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance (KEEA) Energy Education Fund (KEEF) held its third annual Moving to the Head of the Class Awards May 12 in Harrisburg, PA. These awards provide a unique opportunity for K-12 schools in Pennsylvania to get recognition for all the good work they do to save energy and money. Seven schools were recognized and the event was made possible by the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation.
