Huntington Bank maintains nationwide ranking
Huntington Bank is the nation's second largest lender of Small Business Administration (SBA) 7(a) loans during SBA fiscal year 2016, maintaining its ranking for total six-state core footprint.  Huntington has ranked as a top three national SBA 7(s) lender since 2011 and the premier 7(a) lender in its core footprint since 2008.   The SBA 7(a) lending program provides government backing enabling small business lenders to extend credit to business owners who are not yet able to access conventional bank financing. 

Baker College names College of Information Technology Dean Richard Bush
Baker College has announced that Richard Bush, Ph.D., of Ypsilanti, has been named dean of the College of Information Technology (IT). Bush, a USAF veteran, most recently served as the executive director of eLearning Services at Lawrence Technological University, Southfield.   Baker College offers master's, bachelor's, and associate IT degrees.  

Macomb Community College's MAP+ program wins Automation Alley award
Macomb Community College's Michigan Apprenticeship Program Plus (MAP+) was presented with Automation Alley's 2016 Outstanding Educational Initiative Award at the organization's Annual Awards Gala on Oct. 14.  The award recognizes one science, technology, engineering or math initiative that has broken the mold, demonstrating a creative approach to high-skill training of the college's current and future workforce in new and emerging technologies.   MAP+ is a partnership between Macomb and Grand Rapids Community College to develop and expand apprenticeship pathways.  Macomb focuses on manufacturing-related areas while Grand Rapids programs are focusing on the IT sector.
