MRG Kills Ski Magazine Resort Rankings |
|
Along with cooler temps and early snows Autumn also brings the annual ski publications resort rankings. Generally good old Mad River Glen does pretty darn well, but this year we really cleaned up. In the most recent issue of Ski Magazine Mad River Glen won more individual categories than any other "resort"(5) except Mt. Tremblant. "The Skier's Mountain" grabbed top honors for Challenging Terrain, Terrain Variety, Character and (perhaps most impressive) Overall Satisfaction! FYI we also 2nd place in the Value category. Thanks to the readers of Ski Magazine for recognizing our little slice of heaven. And congratulations to our friends up nord at Mt. Tremblant for capturing top honors for Lodging, On-Mountain Food, Dining, Service and Digital Programs (whatever the heck that is). we appreciate that they leave the skiing aspect of skiing to us.
"...Come here to get your ass kicked by unrelenting steep terrain covered with whatever snow nature deigns to provide. You will ride alone to the top.... and if you can ski it, you'll like it very much."

MRG Kids Programs Excitement is High |
 | | Our Fearless Skipper and family! |
MRG's Kids' Ski School Director, Dave Knoop was out with his family (notice the sweet MRG Free Skiing Team lid) for Halloween and he was remarking how psyched up he and his staff are for the upcoming seasonal kids programs. To make everyone's life easier it is always a good idea to make sure all that required paperwork has been submitted. Kids in the seasonal program need to make sure their registration form has been filled out. Don't forget that all kids who are getting a Free 12 & Under Pass also must complete their Release Form. Thanks for taking the time to do this now. The seasonal kids programs start the weekend of December 31, we're looking forward to seeing you and your family on the mountain. |

Free Skiing Team Gear at General Store |
 | | The New Freeskiing Team Lid Is In! |
The buzz around the Mad River Glen Free Skiing Team has been growing and why not. You've seen them yourself ripping around the mountain. They dominated the Ski The East Free Ride Tour last year, their coach Andy Weis graced a 2 page spread in the new Powder Magazine and oh yeah their alumni just happened to sweep the podiums at Crested Butte's US Extreme's the "Holy Grail" of free skiing competitions. So what does the team do when the remove their helmets at the end of the day? Well they hide their hat-head under these sweet toques? Now you can get your own (and a bunch of other great Free Skiing Team-ware) at:

Co-op Notes |
|
Co-op Trustees Meeting The next meeting of the Mad River Glen Cooperative's Board of Trustees will be held on Saturday November 12 at 8 AM. The meeting will take place on the 3rd floor of the Basebox Lodge. The focus of this meeting will be a review of the Base Area Master Plan.
Co-op Share Sales Update We are glad to report that a half a dozen new shares were sold in the month of October giving us a total of 34 sold in FY 2011. This is a great accomplishment but we must keep it up. It is imperative that we continue to grow the MRG community if we are to be sustainable for the long haul. For us to achieve our goals as outlined in the new Base Area master Planning process new share sales will be critical. If you are interested in purchasing a Co-op Share or would like to get some more information please let us know.
Co-op Board Meeting Minutes The best way to stay abreast of YOUR Co-op is to review the latest Board Meeting Minutes. If you ever have any questions for the Trustees feel free to contact them.
