Amidst the flurry of over 1700 events a year and the constant parade of local, national and international talent at the MACC, it is easy to forget that the MACC is a non-profit organization. Although right in our backyard, the MACC is the state of Hawai'i's most comprehensive performing and visual arts facility, and we must raise a large portion of its annual budget from fundraising, memberships, and contributed income: a daunting feat faced by every performing arts center across America.
The MACC’s commitment to “ Inspire people through personal and shared experiences of the arts” is an endeavor that requires support from the community - no matter how many events happen, no matter which talented performer is next on the calendar. Our annual Maui Calls is our largest fundraising event. Every year this event’s proceeds significantly support the MACC's many arts and education programs. Once again, the Maui Calls event was sold out, and once again it was a beautiful evening!
I'd like to take this entire space in our monthly @ the MACC to share some special photo memories with you -- and to give a hearty Mahalo to all of those who help us put this grand evening together and make it an annual success: to our generous table sponsors, event partners, ticket buyers, donors, staff, board and volunteers - and the Maui Calls Committee. This was our 23rd Maui Calls. If you are one of the many who attend this event every year, you know it's a 'must do' on Maui every August. If you have never attended, you may just want to put this on your bucket list for next year. Mark your calendar now for Friday August 17, 2018 for a great night out - an evening of great company, great tastes…and all for a great cause.
