Legislative Update - Call to Action!

Climate, Energy, Fracking Waste, Toxins, and more

CT's Legislature is in session and environmental advocates have been hard at work, pushing for legislation to protect public health and the environment.  Below is a list of bills that we are watching and how you can make a difference!
Governor's Climate Bill - SB 7 is still in the Environment Committee and include ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gases.  This bill will come up for a vote in the Environment Committee this week, so please call members of the Environment Committee this week and urge them to pass SB 7 out of committee.  To see a list of Environment Committee members, please visit here

Ban Fracking Waste - After hard work from a strong coalition of environmental leaders, the initial bill has been greatly strengthened.   The bill, SB 103, now includes ALL of the language that is included in the local ordinances passed in 40 towns across CT.  This bill is very strong - please call your legislator and ask them to co-sign and support.
