LIVE MUSIC
New Jersey Blues Hall Of Famer,
Gary Cavico (aka Gary C), will be performing live at the kickoff! Gary was brought up in Point Pleasant and has been playing blues and roots music since the mid 60's. In the early 80's, he formed The Stone Blues Band, which he still plays in to this day at various festivals and venues along the Jersey Shore area. Gary also uses his performances to speak out against animal cruelty and neglect.
LOCATION
The kickoff will take place on the steps of the NJ State House located at
125 West State Street, Trenton, NJ 08625.
PARKING
You can park at the garage attached to the
Wyndham Hotel located on South Warren Street or look for street parking.
SHUTTLE BUSES
The Mercer County TRADE shuttle bus will pick people up at 12:00 PM at the
Trenton Transit Center located near the main entrance of the station which is located at 73 South Clinton Avenue, Trenton. The shuttle will pick people up at the State House and bring them back to the station at 3:00 PM. If you plan on using the shuttle, please RSVP by Friday, July 22nd to Argenys Caba (

WEATHER
This is a rain or shine event. There will be a large tent set up and plenty of seating. It's going to be a hot summer day with temperatures in the 90s, so we will be handing out free bottles of water to help you cool off.

The kickoff will feature speeches by voting rights activists and disability including
Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling (11th district), Kevin Casey, Executive Director,
NJ Council on Developmental Disabilities, Daniel Frye, Director,
Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired and other invited guests!
