200th Anniversary of
our National Anthem

When: September 14

Where: The Old Fort

On Sunday, 200 years after the events recounted in the song, the Old Fort will raise an 1814 era replica flag. The large flag has 15 stars and 15 stripes - the only US flag ever to have more than 13 stripes, and is 18' by 12'. Volunteers from the Fort took the flag to Baltimore several years ago, where it actually flew over Fort McHenry for a night. The flag will be raised at 1 p.m. in a simple ceremony, and the National Anthem will be sung by a group of singers from the Youth Chorale Choir, an ensemble of the Fort Wayne Children's Choir.
