Headwaters Communities in Action
Now is the time to get out and enjoy the thousands of kilometers of trails in Headwaters!

It is finally starting to feel like Spring and we are all feeling the urge to get active in the outdoors. Check out the HCIA website for Headwaters trail maps and information .
Community Resource Fair
April 5, 2018
HCIA, DC MOVES and Volunteer Dufferin attended the Community Resource Fair at ODSS on April 5th.

Along with an estimated 25 other community services. HCIA shared information about Volunteer Dufferin, the Poverty Reduction Strategic Framework, what Poverty looks like in Dufferin County, and other HCIA projects. Many people came by our table to express their positive experience with Volunteer Dufferin. Send in those testimonials!

The event was a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community. Thank you to organizer Karenda Carpenter, Passport Community Developer.

Happy Trails to Keith Palmer!
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Keith who has been a super supporter and champion for all things community, as well as a wonderful partner for HCIA.

Keith is moving on to work with the Government of Ontario as the Director of Social Assistance, Central Services Branch, reporting to the Ministry of Community Services Assistant Deputy Minister, Social Assistance Operations Division. Whew! There’s a mouthful. If there is anyone who can handle that mantle it’s Keith. We all wish him nothing but the very best. Knock ‘em dead in Queen’s Park.

At the very same time we are super excited that Anna MacGregor is assuming the role of acting Director. Anna has been doing incredible work for Community Services so Dufferin County is in good hands. Welcome Anna!
CHATT Trails Discussion
April 10, 2018
Over 45 Trails enthusiasts attended a meeting held at Lord Dufferin on April 10th.

All attendees were invited to share their background and indicate their area of interest. After initial introductions, everyone was divided into discussion groups based upon the results. There were numerous groups and a number of common themes. A CORE team was established and they will meet to discuss activities moving forward and communicate with the greater group.
