Managing Media Relations
During School Crisis!

Join us for a fun approach to a serious topic!  This half-day workshop prepares you to give briefings to media as well as handle difficult questions in the moment without saying something you'll regret later!

We'll cover several critical areas relative to being prepared ahead of time and responding to media needs in the immediate aftermath of a school crisis.  These events can range from school shootings to arrests of staff for sexual or inappropriate internet contact with students and everything in between.

Agenda for training includes:

- Brief overview of the phases of catastrophic events
- Unfolding of an example of a school catastrophic event
- Focus on the media dynamics for the first week
- Eleven lessons of managing media relations during school crises
- Seven points of policy relative to media

Thursday, April 19, 8 a.m. - 12 noon

Location: The Conference and Training Center at IU 13
                1020 New Holland Avenue
                 Lancaster, PA

If you've been in my workshops you know that I give you 100%.  I will work hard - I'll share the wealth of experience I've gained from the privilege I've had responding to such events as the shootings at Columbine (Littleton), Thurston (Springfield), the machete attack at Red Lion PA, two years with schools in Lower Manhattan following 9/11 and much more. This is a great opportunity to gain insights, skills and concepts that will support your work in years to come.  See my bio here.
