SPRING 2016

There are 53.5 million Millennials (those people born ranging from the early 1980s to around 2000) which comprise 1/3 of the existing workforce and by the year 2025 it will be 75%. Members of this generation own their careers and realize they possess a portfolio of skills and don't define oneself simply by a job title.  The questions for organizational leaders are how best to attract, develop, and retain them in their workforce.

New Website Arriving Soon

We are busy putting the finishing touches on our website which didn't quite make our spring newsletter. Our plan is to debut the new site this summer. We're designing it to provide you with all the information you've been asking for, easily accessible and right at your fingertips.  No more digging through pages of internet content to get what you need.  We appreciate your trust in us and know you depend on the Mejorando Group to help you and your organization 'get better all the time'. Our new website will do just that, as your source for succession planning, strategic planning, leadership development, organizational effectiveness and learning/training information. Our site, the mejorandgroup.com intends to deliver.

Why Governments Need to Ramp Up Succession Planning

Beyond simply replacing positions that become vacant, effective succession planning is an ongoing process of identifying, assessing and developing talent to ensure leadership, management and supervisory continuity throughout an organization and, moreover, to sustain its performance. Succession planning is about a lot more than just increasing employee training. Nor should it be the exclusive responsibility of the human-resources department. Effective succession planning requires advocacy and visible support by all members of the executive leadership team.

Upcoming Speaking Engagements

Please join me on May 24 at 11 a.m. PST for a special, live LinkedIn webinar, Government Succession Planning in the 21st Century.  Learn about my proven 5-phase approach to implementing Succession Planning in government agencies nationwide and how it's helping leaders transition from the workforce they have to the workforce they need.  And mark your calendar for August 17 for another live webinar sponsored by LinkedIn to learn all about Knowledge Transfer and why it's essential to repurpose all that institutional tacit knowledge from employees before they depart your organization.
