::: You Did It! :::
You know what we're talking about. You knit, you worked, you organized, you got on the bus, and YOU SHOWED UP!!!! We still have shivers up our spine at just how many pink hats and strong women showed up in Washington, D.C., in Hartford, in cities across the country to speak their power.
It's not that we're surprised. Who better to know the potential of knitting than three crazy women who started a LYS? But it's worth pausing to speak plainly about the sheer POWER of craft, belief, and numbers. All of us knitters and crocheters--women and men, young and old, liberal and conservative--have in our hands the power to attach meaning to our work. That's why we do it. We have, literally, crafted a movement: we've reclaimed hateful language, we've worked in a spirit of inclusivity, we've given of ourselves in common cause. We've awoken to the potential in our own hands!
We urge you to keep in touch with the momentum we've all generated. You can do that here:
Here you'll find tremendous photos from the weekend, and next steps for all of us.
We're not looking back around here;
we're looking to the future. And we like what we see.
Love,
Julia, Linda and June
