St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.
We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.

Dear St. Rita School Parents,

I hope this newsletter finds you safe and warm at home enjoying yet another snow day with your children. Today is the 9th snow day we have had this school year. As of now we will be using Easter Monday (April 2) as our first make-up day and we will take back the early dismissal days on Thursday, March 29 and Friday, May 25 to make up a second snow day. Fr. Joe has given permission for school to be open all day on Holy Thursday. Should this pose a concern for anyone due to your observance of the Triduum, please do not hesitate to have your child dismissed at noon.  The remaining snow make-up days will be added onto the calendar in June. So as of today, the last day of school will be Tuesday, June 19.  Monday, June 18 and Tuesday, June 19 will be early dismissal days. St. Rita Summer camp will start the following Monday. Should we have any additional snow days these dates are subject to change.

Thank you to all the students and parents who participated in the St. Patrick’s Day parade and for Michael Conklin for coordinating our marchers. It was nice to see our school so well represented in the largest single-day spectator event in CT. Congratulations to our JVV Boys basketball team for winning the St. Mary, Milford Basketball tournament in their age group and also to our cheer squad for their incredible performance and to the stunt group for placing First in the individual group stunt competition at the Our Lady of Victory cheer fest on Sunday. Finally to our Varsity Girls, JV girls, JV 5 Boys and JV 6 Boys basketball teams for their teamwork during state tournament play this past weekend. .

The reregistration packet for the 2018-2019 school year will be sent home this week. We have streamlined the process and ask that you carefully read over the various documents. Tuition costs, Parish verification form, HSA obligation are all included within the tuition agreement document. Tuition costs again this year absorb the fees previously billed separately for such things as the school planner, student Bible, scholastic magazine etc. Fees for field trips, milk, hot lunch, before and aftercare, and the Chromebook fee for new middle school students will be billed separately.

We ask that you return the completed tuition agreement and $150 per student non-refundable deposit to the school office by Friday, April 13, 2018. Those families who are current with their tuition account as of March are eligible to re-enroll. Information regarding the SmartTuition Program and Financial Assistance Program (Smart Aid) is included in the packet and must be updated/completed on-line. Please contact Mrs. Nugent (203-248-5513) school business manager, with any questions you regarding your tuition account.

Thank you for entrusting your child to our care. I am grateful that Spring will arrive in 7 days! Have a good week.

Mrs. Tiezzi

The Great Gathering Auction

With the Great Gathering Auction a little over a month away, the auction committee is asking for your help!    Back in January, we had suggested a monetary donation of $20 per student and were hoping for 100% participation from each student. To date, we have received donations from 33% of the student body. The monetary donations are needed in order to purchase the fabulous items for the silent auction raffles. All proceeds from the auction will benefit St. Rita School. Please consider supporting this great cause. To donate, please access the link below. You donations will be charged through SMART TUITION

THANK YOU to those families that have already generously donated to the Great Gathering Auction. We have a fabulous night planned and hope to see you there!
