ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING (OGHS):

A gift to One Great Hour of Sharing enables the church to share God's love with our neighbors-in-need around the world by providing relief to those affected by natural disasters, provide food to the hungry, and helping to empower the poor and oppressed.  Today, projects supported by One Great Hour of Sharing are underway in more than 100 countries.   Around the world, people lack access to food, clean water, sanitation, education, and opportunity. Each gift to One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) serves to help change the lives of people who are in these challenging situations.

One Great Hour of Sharing, makes a difference in the world through three impactful programs:
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People.
Please bring your gifts for the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering on Palm Sunday or Easter Sunday.

LOCKING UP AFTER YOURSELF!

Lately the front and back doors to the sanctuary have been left unlocked.  Please help us be vigilant if you are one of the last ones to leave the campus and ensure that the doors are locked and the security alarm is set.

As a footnote, there was an attempted break in through the exterior office door. Thankfully, they were not successful but let this serve as a reminder to please, please, please, check any doors that you use (and even those you don't) to insure that they are secured. Thanks!

THOSE INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT OUR CHURCH:

Please remain after worship to meet with Kyle so we can calendar our meeting times. We will be gathering to provide time to learn more about the church, what membership means here, and what Presbyterians are like out in the world. This will be a casual Q&A experience.

No test, no altar call, no kool-aid. We promise!

PARLOR CLASS:

Laudato Si -- Pope Francis' Encyclical Laudato Si' ("Praise Be to You"), is not just for Roman Catholics. It is addressed to the whole world and is intended to be a wakeup call about humanity's relationship to and responsibility for the environment and all of God's creation. In this class we will look at the highlights of each section of the encyclical and discuss how to apply its principles to our own community and personal lives. The class begins today, March 12, after church in the Parlor (to your right as you enter the Wright Fellowship Hall by the bell tower), and will continue through April 9. Marilyn White will lead the class.

Our Bible Study of Matthew also continues today in the Fellowship Hall. Come join us as we find guidance and comfort in the Scriptures.

GOT BASKETS?

We're planning for our Third Annual   "Spring" Egg hunt for the THS teen parents and their children to be held on Friday April 7th 4:30 on the development center grounds on our campus.
Alternate date is Thursday April 13th at 4:30.  Date to be confirmed with the director of the center, as well as the number of children.  Last year there were 25 children and we hid 250 eggs.

If you would like to contribute plastic eggs, baskets, or Easter candy, please bring them to the narthex these next 2 weeks and before April 2.  -OR- would like to stuff the eggs the week of the event, please contact Lynn League ( [email protected])   or Jean Frank ([email protected]) to add your name to the list of helpers.

This is a fun event and gives us a chance to meet the staff, students  and the little ones sharing our church grounds each day.  We'll need just a handful of people at the event to set up a table of juice and cookies, distribute baskets and watch over the gathering of eggs to be sure all go home with a full basket.

SEE A LIGHT OUT?

Lighting is our campus's best security.  If you are here at night and notice lights out, please send an e-mail to [email protected] with the location of the light.

YOU CAN GIVE ELECTRONICALLY
(but we still accept cash and checks as usual!).

How does it work? Scan the QR code below with your smartphone. There are no additional fees for you as the donor. However, as with all such transactions, an administrative fee of 1% will be deducted from your gift before it is delivered to our church. This one-time fee is for the reasonable and customary costs of operation of the Presbyterian Mission Exchange which hosts our electronic giving. If you pay by EFT option, this will be the full extent of the fees deducted. Gifts made using a credit or debit card will be assessed an additional fee of 2.598%+$0.26 (deducted automatically by our card processing vendor). DRIVE A SENIOR - SOUTH AUSTIN

This organization is one of Faith's benevolences, because it provides a much-needed service, transportation for older folks who cannot drive any more. There are many Amplify Austin  "worthy causes" we're being asked to donate to, in the "I Live Here, I Give Here" way.    Please consider this one!

Please help us Amplify our efforts!  Your donation will be matched by
the St. David's Foundation.  Thank you!

DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE IN THE HOSPITAL OR IN NEED OF PASTORAL CARE?

Hospitals no longer notify pastors. If you wish a visit from a pastor during your stay, please let us know. Also, if you are unable to get to worship for a long time, we now offer quarterly home communion.   It only takes a very few minutes to share communion with our pastor and an elder in your home. Let us know if this is something you would like or if you'd like us contact someone in particular and ask if they would like this provided for them.

DO YOU KNOW OF ANYONE WHO IS NOT GETTING THE NEWSLETTER?

If you know someone who does not have email access and who should be getting our newsletter, please call or email Melissa in the office so she can get the information. Thanks!
